Reproduzir uma esfera não é fácil. Os modelos em papel que seguem tentam chegar perto (alguns pelo menos). Outros partindo de sites de matemática ensinam geometria dos sólidos utilizando nosso planeta, que assim toma forma cúbica, piramidal, octaédrica, etc, etc.
É uma questão de explicar o sentido da atividade para as crianças. Elas adoram atividade de colorir, recortar e colar. É uma alegria só!
Nada como um pouquinho de matemática, geografia e arte!.

To make a globe you need:
1 balloon, 1 cup of flour, 4 cups of hot water, 1 cup of cold water, container, blue paint, cut out continents, paste, string, lots of strips of newspaper.
1. Get a balloon. Blow it up and tie it closed.
2. Get the flour. Put flour in a bowl or container. Pour in one cup of cold water. Stir. Then add four cups of hot water. Stir carefully.
3. Dip the strips of newspaper in the flour/water mixture and stick strips of paper on the balloon (all over it). Wait for one day. Then paint the balloon with the blue paint. Wait for one day and then label the oceans.
4. Mix some paste with water. Get some string. Tie string around the globe. Then glue on the continents. Wait to dry for a day or two. Then, viola, it's done!
